She laid on the blanket and just grinned at me,
She was the most beautiful baby I could see.
I know Mom said that I could watch over her,
Now I know why my pets always seemed to purr.
Her little fingers grasped my hand with tender love.
I began to feel the gentle feeling from above,
She was my fragile baby sister sent by the Lord.
Now I know she is His wonderful reward.
I told Mom that since I was now a big Sister,
My best job was to tend her and watch over her.
So with gentle care I prepared her for the whole day long,
Just to make her comfortable I sang a little song.
