Dear Jesus, walk us through all the stages of life.
As we listen to the sounds of the drums and fife.
Softly playing in the distance faint enough to hear.
While they accompany each and every coming year.
As a child you showed us love and assured security
With, your guidance we maintained childhood purity.
You awakened in us genuine love for our Heavenly Father.
That will insure a degree of happiness much farther.
For with advancing age your presence assures,
A place where love for our fellow man endures.
Throughout our life's stages you hover close by,
In order to accompany us to our home on high.
Upon arrival to the promised land,
Our final walk with you hand in hand.
We'll be greeted by loved ones gone before.
As our life here on earth closes the door.
