Heart to Heart

I remember young love and the gentle caring.
Of the touch of tenderness we both were sharing.
Those were the days of innocence and simple pleasures.
Warmth and kindness were given in large measures.

The delightful gift of wild roses to say hello,
A gesture to encourage our love to grow.
Gentle persuasion to let your timid heart fly,
Into mine as together we start our life by and by.

Those were the days when love ruled supreme.
Looking back it seems like a lovely dream.
However those distant memories will always be,
Treasures granted by God for us to see.
