The hands of time move so slowly it seems,
But looking back it resembles a dream.
As the year ends and the new one draws near,
I think about all we have survived, my dear.
I can only say the Lord blessed us royally,
When he caused our lives to be entwined so gently.
You are the love of my life, my precious soul mate.
You and our children make my life so great.
As I look back over the last forty-nine years,
Flooding memories cause my eyes well with tears.
There are gains and there are losses we share,
Our sons are gone, this we will forever share.
We must look at what God has left us to savor,
Beautiful daughters are surely His divine favor.
Our hearts proudly swell with enormous pride.
At the love and grace they have been able to provide.
