I grew up in the little protestant church.
But deep in my soul was a need to search.
I attended churches with my girl friends.
I studied the bible from front to end.
Every Christmas I went with my friend Esther,
Only there my questions did not fester.
The ritual and ceremony gave my heart warmness.
When I saw the babe handled with tenderness.
I knew it was but a doll but a magnificent symbol.
The music swelled at the sight for this was the signal.
The services was long but filled with Holy Scripture.
I came away feeling more and more secure.
The years passed and I continued to look,
For all the answers in the holy book.
I found we Christians share the same belief.
What sets us apart is the expression of faith.
Perhaps someday the world will know peace.
With acceptance of one another difficulties can cease.
After all we are brothers and sisters under one Lord.
We pray He will know how much He is adored.
