The sky was gray with heavy clouds hanging low.
It was evident there was going to be more snow.
We were all cuddled in our winter gear.
To combat the winds fearsome sheer.
Once inside God's the warm and quiet chapel
We bowed our heads , glad to be in His temple.
This year with all it's trials has come to pass ,
We have survived despite the Devils grasp.
The New Year's Day has come and finally gone.
Firecrackers wailed in the night air almost until dawn.
We had much for which we could be thankful.
It was only right that God know we were grateful.
We heard the howling storm against door.
Sounds similar to the waging of a terrible war.
We lifted our voices in the Lords Prayer.
To drown out the fearsome cold of the night air.
We knew that morning soon would come,
Possibly not soon enough for some.
The storm passed and the sun began to break.
The first thing we saw was the light snowflake.
We looked out the world seemed fresh and new,
Thank you dear Lord for helping us through
This night ,of ultimate fear and terror.
We are so thankful that you heard our prayer.
