Legend of The Poinsettias

This is the time of year that miracles occur,
Rain, snow and the cold winds say burr.
I am warmed in remembering the story,
Of how two small children gained glory.

They were very sad because the were poor,
And could buy no gift for sure.
To give the baby Jesus at the church.
They had nothing and how they did search.

So on their way to services they picked some weeds.
Hoping to fulfill the little baby's needs.
The other children laughed and scorned at them.
Every time they placed a little green stem.

All of a sudden there was a bright flash,
And a loud noise came with a crash.
To everyone's amazement this exchange.
Brought about a miraculous change.

Each and every weed began to transform.
Took on an appearance of the color red so warm.
Each bloom resembled a vibrant star.
The children's gift was the best by far.

So to commemorate the birth of the savior.
Poinsettia's are the gift of favor.
Almost like they were provided by the Almighty.
Who I am sure is smiling brightly.
