Magnificent Treasure

Lord you lent me this sheer bundle of joy,
With no manual on how to care for this baby boy.
I looked for answers in the apostolic word,
It was then a strange thing occurred.

My fears were abated, when I came to the realization,
You would always help me take care of your creation.
He was born late in the month of June.
During a bright beautiful full moon.

I watched this baby grow to become a young man.
He portrayed Christian attributes according to plan.
My heart beamed with immense pride,
My happiness I could never hide.

All those people around him felt extreme pleasure.
He was indeed God's magnificent treasure.
But just as you lent him to me for oh so brief a time.
You decided to call him home and I knew he was never mine.

He was thirty-three years old, in the month of May.
I was left again with no manual to handle sorrow.
Nothing to do but get down on my knees to pray.
I knew you would make it ease on the morrow.
