The old well stood lonely and forgotten.
Away from the crowds at the edge of the glen.
The weeds had overgrown where people once sat.
To get there well water and just chat.
How many dignitaries had passed this way?
Chose to wander on rather than to stay.
There was another well so very long ago .
Jesus was tired from his journey so .
He stopped to rest and quench his thirst.
He asked for a drink of the ,person saw first.
Which happened to be a Samaritan woman,
With that she learned God's magnificent plan.
Perhaps the first prejudice was conquered.
Animosity between the Samaritan, and the Jew was shed.
For she announced the presence of our Lord.
And became the first missionary to spread the word.
Our poor little well so forgotten and forlorn.
Covered with the Jerusalem thorn.
May never know such a grand occurrence.
That would result in a fine concurrence.
We can only hope perhaps when Jesus appears.
He will remember kindly the woman and her fears.
He will wipe away all sadness and grief.
Our little well will shine with grand relief.
