Golden crowned kinglet is just a tiny songbird.
Its distinctive song is so faint it is hardly heard.
He's an active little fellow who winters in the tall trees.
The notes of his song come in stanzas of threes.
He comes long after the Robin is gone from sight,
And is particularly active at night.
I have never seen this little creature,
But I read all about him in a newspaper feature.
I guess our climate is not to his liking because we are warm.
Even when we experience our windy storms.
He must be one of God's special little birds that flock.
To fly north toward Canada as a single block
Perhaps next year when winter is here again,
This little bird will stop awhile and then
Take off, with a flock and go northern area.
To a more comfortable place, maybe Bavaria.
It would really be nice to have come this far south.
This would be a happening spread by word of mouth.
For he is a very still and reclusive little fellow.
Recognized by his obvious crown of golden yellow.
