I used to love to work in the hospital nursery.
Every movement had to be perfect accuracy.
Where the newborn babies were kept,
And in their proud mother's arms they slept.
All except for the back row of bassinets.
Whose mothers had gone and seemed to forget.
These were the tiny babes no one seemed to want.
Visitors were far and few between and nonchalant.
Every so often a couple came more then once to peek.
To look for the lovely child they did seek.
Then that magical day they found a baby boy.
Immediately their hearts were filled with joy.
Then two years later they found their girl.
It was like God gave them another special pearl.
Adoption they found was truly a blessing.
Almost like God's angels touch, so caressing.
The routine of legal formalities was tough.
Worth every minute when their love was enough.
Another beautiful way to have a family home.
To give your heart completely and never roam.
