His Last request

My son had gone into remission from Leukemia,
and traveled home to see my husband and me.
He requested that one day we would have a family reunion
with his brother, two sisters, and his sons.
Of course, I said yes, ironically enough we had
Just such a gathering at his death bed.
This is the poem for my youngest son so dear.
My solider boy, who faced death without a trace of fear.

Please don't leave my family alone

If the time comes for us to say good-bye
And you must lay this body in the ground.
Remember how we were and why,
Please don't be sad with a frown.
Just promise that you will come to my family, there.
For they are Oh ,so young and need your care.
They need your warmth and bye and bye after while.
Will only remember the warmth of your smile.
The saddest thing is to be all alone.
When the dear Lord has called a loved one home.
The time will come for us all to greet our Jesus.
It will be a joyous reunion for each of us.
We will all meet again at Heaven's gate.
It is the basis of our Christian fate.
