The Birth of Our Savior

Mary held her son close to her breast,
Her mind still wondered about this test.
The Angel of the Lord had spoken the truth.
Her wonderment questioned her youth.
Surely the Lord could have picked another.
To be this tiny babes Mother.
Still the privilege had come to her.
That night with the Angel was still a blur.
She saw that God had put everything in place.
Also her husband Joseph who had faced disgrace.
This was a wonderful night for all to know.
Shepherds and their flock were the first to show.
The choir of angels sang on high.
The star in the East hung in the sky.
The baby stirred and Mary hummed low.
and rocked the baby to and fro.
For centuries man will always rejoice.
And marvel at the Lord's choice.
For such a perfect Holy Family you see.
Who with his guidance escaped Herod's decree.
