Geronimo's Tales by Carol G Oliver

Trouble in Make Believe Land

Geronimo was sitting under the cotton candy tree just enjoying the marvelous weather. He loved it in Make Believe Land for everyday seems like a spring day. He had visited earth on occasion when it was cold, and wet either from rain or snow. Thinking of wet weather, he remembered his second cousin Leo (who by the way is a Leprechaun). Leo was in Ireland and it seemed it rained all the time when Geronimo was there for a visit. He thought to himself well maybe I will invite him to visit me.

But of course he really should get and okay from the Boss. That was no problem, for when he asked if it would be alright if Leo came, Lil Boss was all in favor of the visit. He always wanted to get to know a Leprechaun up close.

Just then the angel fairy brought to his attention that the soda pop falls were diminishing. When Geronimo went to investigate, it certainly seemed to be true. It was almost as if someone was siphoning off the flow. Now this was a real mystery. It has to be someone mean spirited to do such a thing, if indeed that was the case. He pondered the situation and was stumped. This was a real puzzle and he decided he would have to call in the investigators.
He sent out a message for them to come immediately. He no sooner sent it out than three private detective angels showed up. He knew them well greeted them by calling each by name
"Hello, Who, What and Where, what happened to your partner When?" They explained that she had a touch of the Flu and was confined to bed." "Too bad, but I am sure you can handle this problem". said Geronimo . He explained that he was expecting company and certainly wanted to have Make Believe Land up to par, but that was impossible with the soda pop falls at half flow.
The angels went right to work going in and under the falls. To everyone's surprise they found a huge hose sitting under the falls and there was the problem. But who would do such a thing?

The angels slid down the hose toward Nether Land, way past earth.

This was the place where Misbehaviors resided. Misbehaviors are elf’s, defrocked angels (angels who have lost their wings) fairy's that follow the Bad Guy. In the midst of all these folk lived a witch of Wickin. There she was gathering all the soda pop from the falls.

Well, the detectives shut off the flow and because she was really a bad Misbehavior, they did the worst thing you can do to a witch. They took away her incantations and dusted her with "Good Behavior Dust". That is like putting her on parole for life.

When they reported back to Geronimo they had already sent the message to the Boss that the Bad Guy needed to be trimmed down and dusted with the "Good Behavior Dust" also. That's one job the Boss always took care of himself. Geronimo was sure glad of that.

He thanked the Detectives and when he asked about the charge, they told him it had been taken care of by the Boss. As his friends disappeared from sight, Geronimo was left with so much to think about. First and foremost it always pays to behave. Because if you don't the Bad Guy can really wreck things for you. Now he knew why the people on earth called him the Devil and the Boss they call Lord.

He decided to wait on inviting Leo for a visit. He knew that expense was not a problem, after all Leo had that pot of Gold at the end of the Rainbow. Gerry knew he could dip into that anytime. Even if Leo took some out, it would always been replenished.

He wanted to make sure that there were no other problems with the falls, or for that matter anything else in Make Believe Land. He was concerned that if he got distracted with company it might give someone else an opportunity to cause damage.
