Geronimo's visit with the Grandmother
One day as Geronimo mused about all the differences
in humans and himself, he began to wonder
"How is that the Mothers of all the wonderful children seemed to accept
him so readily."
As he pondered this question, his little mind wrapped itself around only one
answer. But it didn't seem logical,
for he concluded he must have come from another time or someone told them about
him.
But Who???"
Perhaps the Grandmother knew something about this perplexing
dilemma. This prompted him to make another trip to earth, so without even a
second thought he packed his wings in a suitcase (For he had learned that when he went to earth
it always meant more than one destination) and caught the first moonbeam headed
down.
He found the Grandmother in Florida and requested an audience with her.
"How funny!" she laughed "As if I am someone you need to make an appointment
with, for we are old friends."
Geronimo was puzzled at this remark and asked her please to expand on what she
meant."
"Why Geronimo, I have known you forever. At least if feels that way, I may be
old now but I was a youngster at one time. You and I were dear friends.
Through my stories I introduced you to my baby sister Patsy
and our sweet cousin Marley. Whenever they were sad those stories brought
sunshine and laughter into their hearts. They enriched our souls because it
brought us all closer to God. Oh Yeah the big guy started the whole thing for
you and I first met in a dream. I wanted the whole world to know how special you
are and what better way than through the children. I can guarantee that they
loved you every bit as much as I did."
I knew someday you would come to visit my grandchildren and their parents. So I
prepared them for you too."
I remember Geronimo how really lonely you used to be for all the friends you had
were the children on earth.
I never wanted you to be lonely again and I am sure you
are well loved by my cousins, all our families and me: in other words you are
really part of our entire family. Today the children ---tomorrow the world
---but what other way to bring peace, than through love.
Geronimo began to cry because he was so touched by what the Grandmother said.
"I remember you now and I have always loved you too.
But you are wrong about one thing. You are not old and I pray that you'll never
be to old to see the beauty in life.
I must be leaving now but may I give you a kiss for now.
Tears came to the Grandmothers eyes as she felt something
like a butterfly wing across her cheek.
" I'll see you soon Geronimo, come again, when we can talk more about the
good old days.
With this she blew him a kiss good-bye.
