Trip to Ireland

There came a message on Geronimo’s e-mail God needed an emissary to go to Ireland. Being a dutiful Elf Geronimo responded. He put on his nicest outfit and headed off To the central office, where the Lord was. He was greeted by the big fisherman himself, What a joy that was to see Sr. Peter in his glorious white robe and to have him usher Geronimo into the great hall where, God was sitting in a huge recliner. This was not the first time he had seen the Lord But Geronimo didn’t remember him looking so ordinary. Geronimo sat on the footstool at God’s feet and listened intently while the boss explained the problem. It seemed his children in Ireland were in a crisis and fighting among themselves about all things religion. This did not set well with the Lord. He spoke very softly but loud enough for Geronimo, with his tiny ears to hear him. It was decided that God would improvise transportation. Geronimo suggested that he use his fairy wings and asked for a strong North Wind to blow him to Ireland. God agreed and thought this was a marvelous Idea. With a loud roar He summoned the wind. When Wind appeared he gave him strict instructions To follow Geronimo all the time he was in Ireland.

Then the Lord gave him some extra strong, super-charged fairy wings. With a flash they were off to a place Geronimo had always wanted to go. He was going to the home of his ancestors in the beautiful Emerald Isle, with his companion the North Wind. He was ready for adventure. Wind was in exceptionally good form for with a huff and a puff here they settled on the loveliest place of all. They were greeted by the weird sound of bagpipes and singing from small little men who he found out later were Leprechauns. However they turned out to be just the guys he needed to see. They seemed to have a lot of influence on the rest of the people. Geronimo spoke with Shaun and Kent for a long time. He told them that the Lord was most displeased with all the fighting that was going on among the large folks. Shaun and Kent got their clans together. What a meeting that was!!!!

Each Leprechaun was assigned to a person. They formed a plan to Crawl into bed at night and whisper in everyone’s ear. “Be good, stop fighting –A storm will come and blow you away. This was Winds cue to let out a mighty blow……The people talked about the flood, the hurricanes, the cyclones and the earthquakes. This frightened them to the point they stopped fighting and started helping one another. After a few days Wind was able to slow down and they got ready for the trip home. Geronimo was sad to leave but hoped maybe he could come back only for a quieter time and for some fun. Wind wanted to come with him.
