Adventures of Geronimo

Once upon a time there lived a small elf in Make Believe Land.
It was a wonderful place to live because it was behind the soda-pop falls and the trees were made of cotton candy. The shrubs were made of chocolate bonbons; huge gumdrops and tall peppermint trees were intermingled with the cotton candy trees.

He was very tiny, about one and one half inches tall with a cute little pointy nose and very deep dimples. His outfit was a shamrock green with a bell on the tip of his cap. He was absolutely darling but for one thing: he was very sad because he was all alone (no other elves and no family).

His name was Geronimo and he thought he might have been descended from some great Indian chief. In order to pass the time he would listen to the sounds of the world below (earth).

He heard all sorts of interesting things from those big people. How did he hear them, you ask. Well it's like this: he had a great elephant leaf rolled up to make an earphone.

One day on a whim, he decided to catch a moonbeam and go down to earth to investigate. With his extra clothes rolled up and tied to a stick he had a marvelous ride.

He was surprised that the big people could not see him, for big shoes nearly trampled him. He hopped on the man's laces and hitched a ride.

Little children and animals welcomed him with open arms, for their minds had not become clouded by big people problems. His first encounter was with a raccoon named Maccaroon. He told Geronimo that things were very bad for the raccoon family because of a thing called progress. As he told of no place to live big tears rolled down his cheeks. He heard the same complaint from a wild rabbit named Henry.

The little elf just scratched his head in wonderment.
"What to do. What to do." The animals echoed.

There was only one solution and that was to get the little children involved and maybe they could persuade their parents to help the wild animals.

Geronimo looked high and low for some children who would take up the cause. He was lucky for there was a kindly old Grandmother who had ten grandchildren who would help, but this meant he had to go to the states of Florida, New Jersey and Utah. Luckily he had brought his fairy wings and was ready for just such a long trip, which paid off, for they agreed to talk to their parents.

Thinking that the problem had been solved, he gave the children his personal e-mail which was Heaven.Com and instructed them to let him know if they would need him again. And away he flew with a song in his heart and joy because the downstairs world was just a little better because of the lovely children. Most of all, he was no longer alone and had some great friends.

Now you have read the first story about the elf named Geronimo. There will be other adventures to follow, so be alert and if you happen to see a very small person, take time to listen to what he says, for I am sure this world still needs improvement and we always need to be considerate of the small, little animals that also inhabit this earth.
